19 September 1933 – 6 May 2019 Jack Cohen, who has died aged 85, was a biologist who worked on animal reproduction and the development of feathers and hair. His Living Embryos became a standard university text. He left academic life to work as a consultant to IVF clinics, and he designed alien creatures and ecosystems for science fiction writers. He co-authored popular science books and science fiction. He is best remembered for the bestselling series of four Science of Discworld books, written with Terry Pratchett and Ian Stewart. |
